It helps candidates improve their preparation by understanding the success mantras adopted by past NEET toppers and access to essential NEET preparation tips from toppers for the upcoming NEET examination.

NEET 2024 Preparation Tips by Toppers – How do NEET Toppers Study?

NEET toppers’ preparation is similar to that of many other medical aspirants, including following the best examination practices. This includes following a disciplined strategy, keeping a consistent study schedule, having an effective timetable, etc.  Here are some NEET 2024 Preparation Tips by Toppers to help you thoroughly prepare for and master your studies.

Make a Feasible Timetable for NEET UG 2024

Many top-performing NEET candidates advise creating a well-organized timetable for preparation.  A well-planned timetable can significantly help a candidate’s preparation.

Soyeb Aftab: Soyeb Aftab, the NEET 2020 (AIR 1) topper, shared his NEET preparation strategy, saying, “I attended school from 7 AM to 2 PM, followed by coaching from 2:30 PM onwards.” I was exhausted after coaching, which usually ended around 6:30-7 PM, so I could only study for 3-4 hours on my own.”

“To compensate for this, I dedicated 10-12 hours to studying during the holidays.” During the lockdown, I had more time for self-study, so I dedicated 10-12 hours to preparation every day,” he added.

Bhawana Manasa: Bhawana Manasa, NEET 2020 AIR 16, responded to the common question of “how to prepare for NEET from class 11,” saying, “I started my NEET preparations in class 11, following my college timetable for studying, which included weekly exams and preparatory classes.”

To succeed in NEET 2024, candidates must thoroughly understand what, when, and how to study. As a result, creating a thorough and practical timetable is essential for NEET 2024 preparations.

In conclusion, a well-organized timetable is essential for effective NEET preparation. Creating a timetable that fits your needs and schedule is important.

Make Effective Study Plan for NEET UG 2024

It is no secret that well-structured planning is an important component in preparing for various tasks in life, and proper planning is the fundamental and necessary first step in acing the NEET exam.

Implementing the right strategies can help aspirants prepare for board exams and the NEET, while managing their schoolwork and getting enough sleep. As a result, aspirants must make solid plans and stick to them consistently. One effective strategy is to develop a timetable that includes the following key points:

  • Study when you feel most productive.
  • Allocate equal time between board exam preparation and NEET exam readiness.
  • Provide proper attention to all four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
  • Make time to study for both exams.
  • Set achievable goals to avoid negativity and undue pressure.
  • Monitor and track your progress regularly.
  • Allocate time for relaxation and other extracurricular activities.

By following these tips, aspirants can create a solid foundation for success on the NEET exam.

Prioritize the Self-Study for NEET 2024 Exam

Vatsa Ashish Batra : Vatsa Ashish Batra, who scored AIR 2 in NEET 2022, emphasized the importance of self-study from the start of his preparation. Despite adhering to his coaching institute’s schedule, he set aside four to five hours per day for independent study during Class 11.  This dedication grew over time, and by Class 12, he was ensuring a daily study time of 6 to 7 hours. During the final six months of his NEET exam preparation, he dedicated at least eight hours daily, sometimes more.

Tanishka: Tanishka received an AIR 1 in NEET 2022 and stated, “I dedicated 5-6 hours daily to my NEET exam studies.” Coaching does improve your preparation for the NEET UG.”

Master the NEET Syllabus 2024

While mastering the NEET Syllabus 2024 is a simple tip, students often require guidance on which books or resources to use during their NEET preparation. The most effective strategy is to stick to the fundamentals, specifically the NCERT books for Class 11th and 12th. Rather than sifting through numerous books and sources, focusing on NCERT materials and NEET-recommended study resources is strongly advised.

A thorough understanding of the concepts presented in the NCERT books is essential. Students can lay a strong foundation for success by thoroughly understanding and mastering these foundational materials. In addition, students should review previous years’ questions and participate in online modules.

This comprehensive approach ensures a thorough understanding of the core concepts and familiarity with the question patterns that may appear on the NEET exam. Students can improve their readiness for the NEET syllabus by consolidating their knowledge through NCERT books and supplementing it with targeted resources.

Revision is Important

Bhawana Manasa: In discussing the significance of revision for NEET 2024 , Bhawana Manasa, who secured AIR 16 in NEET 2020, stated, “I completed my NEET syllabus early and dedicated a month before the exam to revision.” The act of revisiting the material plays an important role in NEET preparation.

Shekhar Satvik Sharma: Shekhar Satvik Sharma, who achieved AIR 20 in NEET 2020, stated, “I diligently adhered to my regular study hours initially, and just one month before the NEET exam, I revisited the entire syllabus in a stress-free manner.”

As these NEET toppers advise, revision is particularly important for those preparing for the NEET 2024.  This is especially true for NEET 2024 biology preparation. Therefore, regular revision, focusing on weaker topics, is advised. It is not enough to study the subjects once; consistent revision improves clarity and understanding of the concepts.

Study From Useful Study Resources for NEET 2024 Exam

Tanmay Gupta: Tanmay Gupta, AIR 1 in NEET 2021, stressed the essential link between NEET and board exam preparation, emphasizing that what is learned for NEET must be explained in detail in the board exams. He mentioned that a thorough understanding of NEET concepts makes writing detailed responses in board exams easier.

Anantha Parakrama: Similarly, Anantha Parakrama, NEET 2020, AIR 11, shared his strategy for daily topic selection, ensuring completion regardless of time spent. He spent his free time with friends after completing his assigned syllabus.

Conceptual clarity is, therefore, essential for answering the complex multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in NEET 2024. Effectively allocating time to the three NEET subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology—contributes to a firm grasp of concepts.

As highlighted earlier, relying on NCERT books is important in NEET preparation. A wide range of study sources can lead to confusion and overwhelm candidates. Therefore, a balanced approach involves sticking to the 11th and 12th NCERT books, adding to learning with previous year’s question papers to enhance clarity and mastery of concepts.

Practice NEET 2024 Previous Year Papers and Mock Tests

Tanmay Gupta: According to NEET topper Tanmay Gupta, the last month of his preparation was focused on NEET mock tests covering the entire syllabus.  Initially, his preparation consisted of studying NCERT textbooks and revision notes provided by teachers. However, as the NEET UG exam approached, Gupta shifted his focus to important topics, incorporating extensive practice through mock tests and revisiting NCERT materials.

Suyash Arora: Suyash Arora, NEET 2021 AIR 5, shared his approach, saying, “During the early preparation for NEET from Class 11 and 12, I studied many things, essentially trying to cover every topic.” However, in the final month of NEET UG preparations, I filtered the subjects to focus on what is more important and relevant, emphasizing mock tests and NCERT for NEET UG.”

As a result, solving NEET previous years’ question papers and participating in mock tests assists in assessing candidates’ preparation levels and familiarizing them with the NEET 2024 exam pattern. Candidates must practice completing mock tests within the time limit to develop an effective time-management strategy.

A common point emerged when speaking with various NEET toppers:

  • They all extensively solved previous years’ question papers and took NEET mock tests.
  • Recognizing the adage that practice makes perfect, these high achievers dedicated 60-70% of their time to practice.
  • Increased problem-solving prepares candidates for the exam format and enhances recall power, moving beyond passive learning associated with reading to the more active learning inherent in solving problems.
  • This approach is particularly important in facing the challenges posed by the NEET examination, much like the stepwise progression of practice tests leading up to board examinations.

In conclusion, extensive practice with as many questions as possible is required before the test. Important Points to remember while preparing NEET Timetable 2023

Since medical aspirants need a proper time frame or a feasible timetable to crack NEET 2023, care should be taken to carefully devise it as per one’s convenience. While preparing a timetable, consider your strengths and weaknesses, and solve as many question papers as before the actual test.

Consider the following points while preparing a timetable:

  • Make a habit of starting your day earlier
  • Studying in the morning is considered to be the best as one can focus more. Study for 2 hours minimum
  • After this, you can take a break
  • Again resume studying for 2 hours
  • Take a break to have your breakfast
  • Once done, study until your lunch for 3 hours
  • Take a break for an hour, finish your lunch
  • Study for the next 2-3 hours
  • Take a short break, indulge in your favourite activity, and have some snacks
  • Study for 2 hours again.
  • You can call it a day
  • Have your dinner, and then have a sound sleep

Make sure you get a sound sleep of 7-8 hours every single day. Study for 10-11 hours a day. During your study hours, make sure you do not indulge in activities that distract or consume more of your time. Your focus should only be on cracking NEET.

Make sure you do not indulge in any of these activities:

  • Do not make it a habit to indulge in long study hours, take breaks in between
  • Don’t make the mistake of referring to too many books/study materials at once – prefer quality to quantity
  • Backlogs must be avoided. Keep yourself updated with information
  • Do not delay. There is absolutely no scope for the delay with NEET. Complete the work assigned to you on time, and clear your doubts. Be disciplined and sincere with your plan
  • Do not engage in extreme social media/TV/gaming, etc., which can only worsen your situation. Get rid of all unnecessary distractions
  • Do not get moved by low scores in a test or having underperformed in a mock test you took up. Remember, these are just tools to help us up to our game.

Stay confident, and work smart to achieve your goals.

Select the best study materials . Although NCERT is the finest and authentic study guide for the NEET exam, you still need to gain some good exposure in other materials as well.  Always select quality study material in addition to NCERT textbooks .

Planning your daily schedule with a timetable and a study planner is strongly suggested.

You should set about 7 to 8 hours per day to prepare for the NEET. However, it depends on the individual's ability to understand.

We advise you to devote around two hours every day to each of the two subjects you are required to learn.

The NEET dropper’s timetable must include revision every single day.

Aspirants can follow a dynamic timetable like this to crack the examination. Please note that you can change the timetable as per your convenience.

Preparation Tips for NEET Droppers

1. know exactly what went wrong.

Finding out what went wrong the last time is the first advice for droppers getting ready for the NEET. It's important to recognise the reason you could not crack the exam if you want to go forward. Make a list of the reasons you believe led to your previous NEET performance. Be honest when you create this list. You won't be able to overcome your weaknesses and do better on your next attempt if you don't embrace them now.

2. Accepting Your Mistakes

After making a list of everything you believe led to your weak NEET score, you must cross each reason off one by one. This is your chance to make corrections if you feel that you did not devote enough time to revision. If you think you still have questions, start working on them. Whether there are many or few reasons on the list, the goal is to make sure that none of them will hold you back the next time.

3. A Different Perspective on the Preparation

Now is the perfect time to obtain a mentor or guide if you don't already have one. You are already familiar with the NEET syllabus and pattern because you have already taken this exam once. Most of the NEET question papers from previous years have probably been solved by you. You'll be able to see things from a fresh perspective if you have a mentor or guide by your side. You'll be able to restart your NEET preparation from scratch.

4. A Modified Timetable for NEET Droppers 2022

A modified timEtable for NEET droppers 2022 is important. There must be a lot of you who have enrolled for coaching programmes. Classes tend to be lengthier for dropper year students. Self-study is still an important factor of preparation. Make a new schedule that includes the time spent at the coaching facility. Give yourself another 6 to 8 hours to study on your own. When creating the new schedule, remember to take the list you created in the first step into consideration as well.

5. Filling in the Gaps

Try to fill in the gaps in your NEET preparation throughout the first half of your dropper year. By covering the chapters that were missed the previous year, the NEET course syllabus would be completed. Pay attention to the subjects or topics that need to be improved. Doing this, don't forget to revise. This is the time to strike a balance between the old and the new.

6. Management of Time

Lack of time management is one of the major issues that many students experience. It is impossible to overstate the value of time management, and prioritising is one of the most crucial phases in the process. The skill of prioritising is something that very few people are able to master. Once you know the difference between important and unimportant tasks, you can manage your time effectively. It is one of the important factors in the daily routine of NEET droppers.

7. Attempt Mock Tests

Lastly, a crucial NEET preparation advice for dropouts is to complete at least two NEET mock tests per week during the last six months of your preparation. You will be exposed to questions of various levels of complexity through mock tests. You can use this to improve your NEET preparation and get ready for exam day.

Additionally, during the final month of study, glance over the questions from past exams. Every year, the exam contains a large number of questions that are repeated. You can improve your answers to these questions by studying previous NEET question papers.

Conclusion

This concludes our discussion of the NEET 2022 dropper timetable. The above-mentioned tips and strategies are attempted strategies that NEET toppers who dropped out used. The NEET UG all-India rank holder said that he decided to do an MBBS when he was in Class 9. “Being a doctor is a noble profession. The respect which they get in our society is incomparable to any other profession,” he said. Speaking to the indianexpress.com , Kumar shares how he prepared for NEET UG.

How did you prepare for NEET UG?

My NEET UG preparation started when I was in Class 11. I was enrolled in an offline classroom coaching program at Aakash BYJU’s in Siliguri however, due to the Covid restrictions, my classes were held online in the initial days but later shifted to offline again.

I mainly focussed on the coaching materials and followed the NCERT books religiously. During the last few months, I started my day by reading physics and solving questions on it. For chemistry and biology, I used to thoroughly read the NCERT books and took the test modules given by the coaching institute.

Festive offer

I do not feel coaching is mandatory to crack NEET UG , however, it streamlines the preparation and guides in general.

What was it like preparing for board exams and NEET UG simultaneously?

Preparing for both simultaneously is not challenging. There were many overlaps in the syllabus of the board exam and NEET UG . The only difference was in the pattern of questions asked.

I made a routine and timed my study for board exams and NEET UG. Getting a routine and following it helped me track my preparation. Following a routine also aided in reducing backlogs in studies. I made sure I was consistent during my preparation.

What would you recommend to NEET UG 2024 aspirants?

– Read the NCERTs by heart

– Know your capabilities and prepare a study schedule accordingly

– Set realistic goals

– Give mock tests to know the

– Keep yourself motivated. Never belittle yourself

– Be consistent in your study

Life in AIIMS New Delhi

I chose AIIMS New Delhi for three reasons. First, it is ranked the top in medical sciences, second it has a great alumni network and third due to its location. Since it is located in our Capital, I feel it will provide me with many opportunities in the future.

It mostly comprises the Physics chapters from Classes XI and XII, and hence, has a greater chance of securing a better score, if prepared thoroughly.

Thus, this article will provide a detailed insight of NEET 2024 Physics Study Plan - with a comprehensive guide on how to prepare, and important tips to nail the examination.  Also Read:  NEET 2024 Syllabus

Physics may seem difficult for students who do not have clarity of the concepts behind it. Once the concept is clear, Physics can be fun to learn. What makes the subject difficult for the students is their approach. The majority of students try to get a grip of the concepts by solving questions whereas it should actually be the other way around. The focus should be on clearing the basic concepts, understanding the process of derivation, and then solving questions to assess how far you have come.

As per the NEET 2024 Exam Pattern, the Physics section is divided into two parts – Section A comprising 35 questions of 4 marks each, and Section B with 15 questions (of which 10 are to be attempted) carrying 4 marks each. That means the total marks allotted to Section A and Section B are 140 and 40, respectively.

The division and marking scheme of NEET Physics are tabulated below:

Any score above 140 is considered a good score in NEET Physics. In order to fetch good marks in this section, one must answer at least 35-40 questions correctly. The key is to get as many right answers as possible from the chapters and topics that one is familiar with.

As you already know, NEET Physics Syllabus is quite vast considering that it covers a huge part of the 11th & 12th Grade chapters and topics. Here is a look at the complete syllabus for your ease of understanding:

Knowing the overall Physics Syllabus for NEET 2024 gives you an upper hand when you are aiming for the entrance. However, we suggest you take a look at the various topics that have more weightage and prepare accordingly to get the maximum score.

Having analyzed the previous trends in the pattern of questions, we have compiled a list of important topics based on their weightage. Make sure you go through them thoroughly and cover maximum questions as possible when practising:

Chapter-wise weightage for Physics Section 2021-22

As you can see from the table above, the maximum number of questions asked in NEET 2021 was from the section on Mechanics, followed by Electrostatics & Electricity and Modern Physics & Electronics. The chapter on Magnetism too was quite an important portion covering 7 questions. Therefore, it goes without saying that students should prioritize these chapters if they want to be able to attempt as many questions.

In NEET 2020 also, the majority of the questions asked were from chapters, like Mechanics, Electricity, Modern Physics and Magnetism. This clearly shows a pattern and a probability that these chapters will have more weightage in NEET 2024 Physics Exam.

The table below presents the important chapters and the corresponding marks it carries. The last column shows the average number of questions, cumulatively, based on previous years’ trends from the year 2006 onwards up till NEET 2019.

Note: The above table only shows an average number of questions on the basis of previous trends from 2006 onwards. The actual number of questions may vary in NEET 2024.

The competition for NEET is rising every year. To crack the entrance and grab a seat in the Top MBBS Colleges in India , one must have the best strategy. This includes mastering the NEET Syllabus, formulating a smart study plan, revising thoroughly, getting acquainted with the exam pattern, solving papers and so on. Here, we have collated and brought you some useful NEET Preparation Tips by experts and toppers to get you the perfect score!

irst and foremost, acquaint yourself with the NEET syllabus to gain comprehensive knowledge of all chapters. Typically, the syllabus encompasses most chapters from your 11th and 12th Grades, eliminating the need for separate preparation. This leaves you with the opportunity to focus on additional chapters and topics for NEET 2024.

Go Through Quality Study Materials

NEET 2024 Study Materials play a pivotal role in exam preparation. In addition to your textbooks, explore other books and online resources to clarify concepts and acquire extra information on the topics. Consult suggestions from NEET toppers and teachers by delving into their interviews and tips. This offers insights into NEET study plans and strategies.

Formulate a Timetable

Creating a well-structured timetable is invaluable for NEET preparation. Incorporate your entire daily routine, starting from waking up until bedtime. Divide your day into hours and plan activities accordingly. For example, allocate 2-3 hours for revising a chapter requiring more attention, followed by the next 2 hours dedicated to solving practice papers based on questions from that specific chapter. This approach allows you to address your weaknesses effectively. Include break or playtime in your timetable to gauge the hours available for recreational activities.

Prepare Concise Notes

The most effective method for memorizing crucial topics, formulas, and laws of Physics is to maintain concise notes. While reading paragraphs from NCERT books, jot down essential points separately in a notepad and highlight them. This practice aids in better recollection during revision and saves time.

Practice Question Papers

One major concern for students appearing for NEET 2024 is the limitation of time. Candidates are to answer 180 questions in 3 hours, which is challenging. In such cases, time management is essential. Solving NEET sample papers and Previous Years’ Question Papers is a great way to improve our speed and accuracy. Not only does solving papers give you an idea of the difficulty level and probable questions in the NEET Exam, but also helps to speed up.

Focus on Your Weaknesses

It is not possible for all students to hold a strong grip on every subject or topic. Some may have a stronger base in one chapter and be weak in another. But that should not demotivate you or stray you from the path. Once you have analyzed your weak points, seek guidance from the experts, and work on improving the weaker sections. Instead of fearing the difficult chapters, allot more time to study them and keep practising dedicatedly.

Take Mock Tests Daily

Mock Tests for NEET Physics 2024  are a great way to assess how well prepared you are for the exam. The tests are designed in the same pattern as the actual NEET Exam, so you also get an idea about how to approach and navigate through the question paper. Besides, the questions have a time limit, so candidates need to be prompt when answering them. This improves speed. Lastly, one can get an idea of his/her preparation so far by evaluating the scores based on the online mock tests.

Take Scheduled Breaks

Preparing for NEET 2024 does not necessarily mean that candidates should go for marathon study sessions. Taking short breaks in between is also equally important to reset your mind and improve concentration. Go for a short walk, play a game, watch your favourite shows, or do whatever makes you content.

Prioritize Your Health

Students must not ignore their health amid NEET 2024 Preparation. Sufficient sleep, healthy eating habits, and a positive mindset – all these are essential for the candidate to ensure a healthy body and mind before the NEET 2024.

With these preparation tips and NEET 2024 Physics Study Plan, candidates stand a very good chance of scoring well above the cut-off marks and securing a good rank that will get them through the top medical institutes across the country.
