12 Movies to See After You Watch Project Almanac
Paramount Pictures
Project Almanac is the kind of movie where the characters are fully aware of other movies like it. That’s never been an unusual idea, because if you think about it, you’d be one of those characters, too. “Genre savvy” is what it’s called, and any human character who grew up on movies is going to have it. If a real slasher started killing your friends, you’d think about what happens in slasher movies, at least for a second before you just panicked because someone is murdering your friends. But it’s particularly true for more fantastical scenarios. If your world was suddenly populated by vampires or zombies, you’d consider the rules of movies about vampires or zombies. And if you managed to invent a time machine, you’d wonder which time travel movies got it right – especially regarding what happens to you if you encounter another version of yourself.
There are quite a number of other time travel movies referenced in some form or another in Project Almanac , too many to bother listing in this edition of Movies to Watch. Especially the really famous ones. One character mentions “ Terminator s one through four,” but I’m not going to recommend any of them. Same goes for Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure , a clip from which even appears on screen. Then there’s Timeline , which isn’t alluded to except through the way the main actor in Project Almanac , Jonny Weston , really reminds me of a young Paul Walker. But nobody needs to see that movie. So, I’ve been selective, and only one third of the following recommended titles is from the time travel genre.
The rest are the usual variety. There are a few movies that have similar style or tone or plots outside of the primary genre and another few are linked by director and cast. And as always, this list is best avoided before seeing the movie at hand, as their reason for inclusion may have to do with SPOILERS regarding Project Almanac .
Chronicle (2012)
Let’s get the most obvious movie connection out of the way first. From the start, back when Project Almanac was still titled Welcome to Yesterday , it was likened to Josh Trank ’s found-footage superhero movie. Sure, there are tons of movies shot like this out there, but Chronicle similarly involves high schoolers, a sci-fi situation and selfish results. Project Almanac almost feels like a remake of Chronicle just with every instance of the words “super powers” in the script being replaced with “time travel.” Yet Chronicle is a far superior movie that not just is more consistent with its found-footage logic but also very clever in its employment. At times Project Almanac is actually more aligned with the high schoolers storyline in last year’s found-footage disaster movie, Into the Storm .
Jumper (2008)
From there you might as well also go back and watch this underrated Doug Liman sci-fi flick that also shows us people with super powers being more naturally selfish and greedy rather than heroic. Now that Liman has also made a great time travel movie concerned with do-overs – Edge of Tomorrow – you may consider this the Chronicle to that movie’s Project Almanac .
The Goonies (1985)
For a good while, Project Almanac has a bit of the spirit of an old Amblin Entertainment movie. I started to think maybe producer Michael Bay had learned some good from his Transformers producer, Steven Spielberg (co-founder of Amblin and producer of The Goonies ). In the first act of both The Goonies and Project Almanac , there is a financial dilemma and some of the main characters are about to lose their home as a result. They search through boxes of old stuff in an attic and find something that propels the plot and leads them on an adventure. On the way, they end up in a basement, find a significant trap door in the floor, and suddenly a hot girl that one of them likes shows up and – then they split as The Goonies follows a treasure hunt through booby-trapped caverns and Project Almanac follows a series of trips through time that contain their own peril.
Explorers (1985)
While not an Amblin production, this sci-fi teen movie, which hit theaters a month after The Goonies , has a bit of that same spirit. It makes sense, because director Joe Dante had previously worked for Amblin on Gremlins . Here we have a trio of high school nerds ( Ethan Hawke , River Phoenix and Jason Presson ) who build a space craft together and wind up on an alien ship. Their early scenes building and testing their invention parallels the scenes of building and testing the time machine in Project Almanac all too well. Hawke’s character also has a crush on a cute girl from school that’s akin to the one had by Weston in the new movie.
My Science Project (1985)
Another month went by in the summer of 1985 and then we got this very cheesy but likable sci-fi teen movie in which John Stockwell finds an extraterrestrial engine that can transport things and people through time. What’s interesting about the movie is the plot never takes us along for a ride through time. Instead, the action sticks to the present while a ridiculous Dennis Hopper , playing a history teacher, goes back to the ’60s and returns without the narrative following him. Also, more in focus is all the stuff that the machine pulls to the present from the past and future, including ancient artifacts, Vietnam War soldiers, a Morlock-type creature from the future and a Tyrannosaurus rex.
Timecop (1994)
One of the characters in Project Almanac mentions and recommends this time travel movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme that’s sort of so bad it’s awesome. Besides being relevant for also involving a 10-year-timespan (its future end point is 2004, which is Project Almanac ’s past end point), the most interesting part of this comic book adaptation is its rules regarding what happens when a character comes into contact with himself. In Timecop , the danger concerns physical touch, which results in both versions melding and then melting. In Project Almanac it’s bad enough to just see yourself, and long enough eye contact results in both versions disappearing.
Looper (2012)
I think it’s the same character in Project Almanac who references Timecop who also alludes to this Rian Johnson time travel movie as being “awesome” before trying out a trick that he learned from it. Rather than eliminating body parts from his earlier self to see his current self magically lose those same parts, he merely draws a happy face on the back of his neck with a permanent marker and that face shows up like magic on his own neck. But right after is where we first see what happens in the Project Almanac world when you look at yourself. It’s different from Looper , the plot of which heavily centers on the fact that people can be in the same space and communicate with other versions of themselves.
The Infinite Man (2014)
At one point a character in Project Almanac (yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s the same one again) references Groundhog Day during a comedic montage involving him having to repeat a moment over and over again to get it right. Instead of spotlighting that famous and highly influential movie, though, here’s a more recent and little-known time travel-based romantic comedy that also evokes that 1993 Bill Murray-led classic. Like the do-over at the Lollapalooza concert in Project Almanac , this Australian movie written and directed by Hugh Sullivan involves a guy just trying to make everything perfect with a girl, and the more he goes back to do it all over the more he keeps messing something else up in the loop. I don’t know if it’s publicly out in any way in the US yet, so just keep an eye out for it.
Signs (2002)
I’ve included this almost perfect M. Night Shyamalan thriller because now between Signs and Project Almanac I’ll never be able to watch a video recording of a birthday party without wondering if there’s something creepy to be seen in the background, whether an alien or a time traveler or whatever.
Monster House (2006)
I feel like this Oscar-nominated animated feature about a sentient haunted house is largely forgotten (perhaps it will be mentioned more this summer when director Gil Kenan ’s Poltergeist remake is released). I’ll always primarily remember it as being my first positive experience with the modern digital 3D technology, but it’s also another terrific Goonies -esque (it is actually produced by Spielberg and Amblin) and Joe Dante-esque story of kids venturing through a fantastical plot. Also, one of those kids is voiced by Sam Lerner , who is one of the main characters in Project Almanac .
A Serious Man (2009)
It’s a shame that Amy Landecker has such a small part in Project Almanac , playing the mother of two of the main characters, but at least her appearance allows me to recommend the TV series Transparent , which I’ll slip in here since it’s not a movie, as well as this Coen brothers film in which she also appears only briefly yet very memorably as the neighbor of the protagonist. A Serious Man also has more intelligent fun with theoretical physics than Project Almanac does and features a better ambiguous ending – one that may in fact also relate more to Into the Storm if we must compare it to a found footage movie.
Acholiland (2009)
Project Almanac is the feature debut of director Dean Israelite , who has a few shorts to his credit listed on IMDb, including one based on a short story by Colin Firth titled The Department of Nothing . While that is not available online, Israelite’s most recent short, the 20-minute-long Acholiland , is. It’s actually his thesis film from when he was a student at the American Film Institute and follows a fictional story of a team of UN workers delivering rations to refugees in Uganda in 1999. They attempt to save some children from being enslaved by the Lord’s Resistance Army, a small faction of which they encounter one night. Yep, it’s pretty serious subject matter compared to that of Project Almanac , and it’s pretty decent for a student film. You can watch it in full on YouTube via paid subscription to the channel Big Star Movies (just get a free trial and then quit after watching it like I did).

Critic Reviews for Project Almanac
Audience reviews for project almanac.
Produced by Michael Bay, Project Almanac is a rather generic found footage, sci-fi thriller. While rummaging through some of his father's old papers David Raskin comes across a design for a time machine, and (with the help of his friends) attempts to build it. The plot is pretty ridiculous and none of performances are very good. Additionally, there's no real reason why these kids would be filming themselves; at least outside of the time travel experiments. Yet when the actual time travel plot kicks in, some interesting things are done with causality and paradoxes. Project Almanac delivers a few entertaining thrill, but overall it's a poorly made film.
You start out thinking it's a little dumb, and then the more you objectively think about it, the stupider you realise it actually is. But a movie doesn't have to be Logic-Prime to be entertaining, and Project Almanac, more or less, fits the "entertaining" bill. It's nice to see the "Found Footage" archetype being used for something other than Horror, but it's not nice to be seeing it at all. It's constantly being used as an excuse for poor acting and dodgy effects, when in reality it makes those things *more* obvious, on top of the fact that it's just plain annoying, and contrived.
This is a film that has some pretty decent ideas about time travel. Perhaps it doesn't offer anything that you haven't seen in any time travel film you've ever seen, but it offers some fairly interesting scenarios about the ripple effect one small change could've caused. I think they do this in a fairly dramatic and over-the-top fashion, but it does illustrate its point fairly well. I will get to that later. First things first. The problem is that the film, for the first 70 minutes or so, feels like every teen comedy had sex with time travel. I get the reasoning behind choosing to go this route, but it's not like it was actually any interesting to watch as a viewer. They go back to win the lottery, they go back to pass an oral exam, they go back to give their bullies their comeuppance. They travel back to go to a Lollapalooza festival show. The reasoning behind this is that they're doing completely trivial and useless things with what is the most important invention, probably, in the history of mankind, instead of doing things that will change the world for the better. There's this subplot where David and Christina's father died in a car crash when David was 7 and part of David's happiness in succeeding to build this machine is so he can go back to prevent his death. This is actually paid off in a fairly poignant moment near the film's end when future David, upon meeting his father, tells him that there are no second chances. It's probably the only moment of the film with some real emotional resonance and you wonder what might've been if they spent a little more time on building character as opposed to focusing so much on things that don't really matter in the long run. Like I mentioned, the first 70 minutes of the film are fairly pointless. Then comes the Lollapalooza show, which is when everything changes. Essentially, David screws up with Jessie and he decides to go back, alone, to try and fix things. He does succeed and he gets the girl. After this happens, however, a pretty terrible plane crash happens that and other horrible events across the world happen and that, they surmise, it dated all the way back to when they went to the Lollapalooza show. So the group decides to go back in time to before the show so they can miss it and set things right. David, selfishly enough, disagrees with this and he decides to go back in time on his own, again, something they agreed to not do, to fix something that would've negated the plane crash. Ok this is fine and good. But, out of all the things they did, why did the Lollapalooza show cause this? It just seems like they're picking and choosing because they are, essentially, changing the past. So why did that not cause a ripple effect? Why did them winning the lottery have no ripple effect? They changed things so much and yet none of that caused anything to go wrong. The Lollapalooza show, however, did. They're assuming that you know it's because David traveled alone and change the course of his relationship with Jessie for the better. The group made it one of their rules to never go back alone, it's not like the machine knew this. Why did David going back and changing one small thing have this huge effect? And that's the butterfly effect theory, one small thing can change the course of the future, but they do so in this film in an incredibly over-the-top manner. I didn't find it to be satisfying storytelling at all, cause they just assume that you'll just go with it without asking any questions. It doesn't even make sense in its own context. But, fine, whatever. David keeps going back when things keep getting more and more complicated and his mind if blurring all of the things that he's done during his travels in trying to fix things. This is where the film is at its best. It's not like it's great, but it is, at least, a highlight of the film. The film is found footage style, so you know what to expect from that. The writing is not particularly good, they're just hoping that the concept will intrigue you enough to overlook that fact. It didn't. It's certainly a watchable film, at best, but it has some pretty huge flaws that definitely hold it back. The first 70 minutes being teen wish fulfillment bullshit didn't really do much for me. The last 40 minutes were ok, but it's far too late by this point to truly make anything of it. It's fine and watchable for what it is, but this certainly won't age well as the years go by. You won't be missing anything if you decide to skip this, trust me.
Interesting and powerful movie, yet so many references from movies like Back to the future, Cloverfield.. almost felt like a rip off at some points.. how ever I didn't really mind because the film really entertained me.

“Project Almanac” might appear to be the perfect cautionary tale for Generation Selfie, which too often seems to feel they are entitled to get whatever they want, whenever they want it and at whatever cost. But the sci-fi flick does a much more convincing job as a reminder that the time has come to finally tell the found-footage genre to get lost. Just pick up your unsteady handheld camera and go already.
When “ The Blair Witch Project ” entered our consciousness in 1999, the nausea-inducing horror film didn’t just shaky-cam its way into the primordial ooze of our psyches. It was also a screw-you to bloated studio fare as it embraced minimalist filmmaking and took it to new cost-conscious levels. It also taught Hollywood how to tap into the web and early social media in order to create a word-of-mouth sensation (much of it concerning debate over whether the events shown were real) before hardly anyone had seen a single frame.
From there, the concept evolved. The " Paranormal Activity ” franchise that began in 2007 cleverly brought faux-amateur cinema out of the woods and into our very homes with the rare and mostly welcome use of mostly stationary cameras. It also took marketing to a new level by allowing internet users to “demand” where early screenings of the movie should be held.
In 2008, “ Cloverfield ” injected a super-secret giant monster storyline. In 2012, “ Chronicle ” added the sci-fi element of telekinesis. That same year, “ Project X ” went the “ Superbad ” route with a teen-party-gone-wild backdrop.
The result? Dramamine sales surged and a booming box-office gross was enjoyed by all.
But what was once new and trendy now seems extremely "been there, shook that," especially when an action schlockmeister like Michael Bay gets his producing mitts on the format. The major innovation in “Project Almanac” is to toss a homemade time machine into the mix that allows a gang of teen nerds to manipulate the past and improve their social status, their grades, their wardrobe, their wheels and their love life. The idea of going back and killing Hitler is briefly mentioned as an option. But it loses out to the ever-popular winning the lottery by knowing the jackpot numbers ahead of time.
The saving grace can be found in the movie’s casting. Cute Jonny Weston (“ Taken 3 ” and the upcoming “Insurgent”) is David, a clean-cut brain whose sole outward sign of geekiness is his Harry Potter-like wire-rim glasses. After being accepted to MIT and wanting to boost his chances at a big scholarship by conducting an experiment, he and his kid sister ( Ginny Gardner ) poke around his late scientist father’s documents in the attic and find a vintage camcorder. Inside is a recording of his 7th birthday party–the day that his dad died in a car accident 10 years ago. Taking a closer look, he is shocked to spot his blurred current-day image in a background mirror.
That sends him and his two best buddies, almost-as-bright shy guy Adam ( Allen Evangelista ) and lumpy loser Quinn ( Sam Lerner , who earns his keep with a priceless “ Argo ” reference), into the basement where they discover directions to building a time machine and the materials to do so hidden under the floor. How convenient. Soon, they are preparing for takeoff—but not before the prettiest girl in school (Sofia Black-D’Elia), who just happens to have a crush on an unaware David, stumbles into their adventures. The giddy bunch is fun enough to hang with and the effects are kind of cool—until the plot fatally nosedives into trumped-up melodrama that it doesn’t quite earn.
“Project Almanac” is directed by first-timer Dean Israelite , but Bay manages to put his signature touch on it in several scenes: namely how the camcorder used to record all the comings-and-goings to the recent past and back regularly zooms in on the nubile bodies of adolescent girls. Female behinds, breasts, legs and crotch areas get a good workout, even though David’s sister—whose own tank top is distractingly low—is doing much of the camera work. A whole montage segment is devoted to mostly young women in skimpy damp attire enjoying a water slide.
I am no whiz at the laws of temporal relocation and have no idea how it is possible to capture every moment of their travels on film when it seems occasionally that no one is actually holding a recording device. In fact, I don’t even know why “Project Almanac” had to be shot in this distracting way. So let’s talk about logic. You would think that anyone who has seen “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” the “Terminator” series or even “ Looper ”—all name-checked by our high-school heroes—would know that messing with already-happened occurrences could possibly cause a wave of unwanted repercussions a la the butterfly effect.
But it doesn’t take too long before David, who might be smart but apparently not smart enough, goes full-tilt mad scientist, loses what charm he oozed previously and throws caution to the wind for a rather selfish if sexist reason. One that could have been easily cleared up just by honestly speaking his mind in the present.
It’s enough to make H.G. Wells roll his eyes as he rolls in his grave.

Are We Ever Going To See A “Project Almanac 2”?
If you could change the events of your life and recreate them into something better than they should have been, would you do it? That is the question that the teens of the original Project Almanac film contemplate. While in many ways this film pays homage to every possible time traveling film ever created, it also takes a “found footage” approach which sets it apart from the pack. While in the original film, the main character David finds and begins using this time machine his father invented to secure financial security for he and his mother to afford his tuition for MIT, the movie itself begins to show the cracks created when messing around with timelines and diverting what was supposed to happen.
While this film was originally released in January of 2015, many of the fans of the film were all but convinced that a sequel had to be in the works. While the group has a handful of disasterous outcomes they were all but able to rectify by the conclusion of the first film, they also discuss the likelihood of creating a second time machine and vow to do things right this time around. This clinging conclusion to the film left audiences assured that the story would continue, and that David and his friends would create another machine and alter the course of events once again.
So the question becomes: how likely is it that this movie is actually in the works?
As you well know, some sequels are broadcast years before their actual release, leaving no doubts to the viewership that another chapter in the tale is in production. These films usually open up to blockbuster weekends that come close, or actually do, exceed box office records. With a movie like Project Almanac, the box office wasn’t blown away. In fact, of the millions that saw the film, there were very mixed reviews and ratings. So while the open ended conclusion of the film might have sparked some hope in those that loved the flick, major movie production companies rarely back a film that is not somewhat guaranteed to gross above the budget.
But does this mean it can never happen now? The short answer is no. While it does seem rather unlikely that a movie with such a variety of positive and negative feedback could have a shot at a sequel, there is nothing quite like the allure of something different when it is needed the most. This is what allowed Project Almanac to gross over 21 million dollars beyond the budget for the film. People wanted to see something that they couldn’t find with the other films getting released at the time: originality.
If you were to believe everything you read on the internet, there are several resources to suggest that the movie stands a fair chance of getting another opportunity on the big screen. While films that are not guaranteed to pull in a specific amount of profit often become straight to disc or cable television releases, another installment in this time traveling series might not be that hard of a sell, especially with a broader initial budget and a plot that isn’t loosely connected to the Butterfly Effect theory.
In order for audiences to see the next chapter of this film, where David and company reimagine his belated father’s work, a lot of things have to happen. One, the film is going to have to be willing to step away from the “found footage” approach, as this is a one trick pony. Audiences are getting tired of seeing shaky camera work, no matter how good the acting or action might be. Secondly, legitimate actors and actresses are going to have to get involved, even with keeping the original main cast. It is the only way to garner enough attention to have Hollywood take notice enough to give the sequel a shot on the silver screen again.
While many viewers remain hopeful that Project Almanac 2 is in the works somewhere, the truth is that it likely isn’t. The film did gross over $21 million in profits, but this was well below projections for the film. To Hollywood executives, the film failed to reach its potential and therefore had a dismal run in theaters. It seems very unlikely that anyone would be willing to roll the dice on whatever time traveling hijinks might have been in store.

Positive Messages
Characters establish rules about working together, but one character breaks those rules for selfish reasons and pays a terrible price for it.
Positive Role Models
The teens mostly use their time-travel abilities for selfish reasons -- i.e. to increase their popularity or make their high school existence easier.
Violence & Scariness
Time-travel sequences include lots of noise, shouting, and characters seemingly being tossed about, since they land in various positions on the ground. Some arguing. Teens chased by angry dog. Teens break into a school to steal things. Characters disappear. Teens chased by cops.
Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Violence & Scariness in your kid's entertainment guide.
Sex, Romance & Nudity
Teens think and talk about sex frequently, and two characters have sex (nothing sensitive is seen) and are shown in bed together. The "found footage" sometimes ogles teen girls' bodies. Kissing. A teen girl comes out of the bathroom wearing a towel, then opens it to show a boy her body (out of view). Some innuendo.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Project Almanac is a "found footage" time-travel movie about teens. They mostly use their technology for selfish reasons, but they do establish rules about teamwork; when those rules are broken, a terrible price is paid. The word "s--t" is used a lot, as are "bitch," "hell," and more. There's tension and chases, but not much true violence -- though the time-travel sequences include some loud noises, yelling, and characters seemingly being flung about (they pick themselves up off the ground after a time jump). The teen characters think about sex a lot; there's some kissing, plenty of innuendo, and ogling of female body parts. Two characters have sex and are intimate in a few scenes (i.e. lying in bed together), though nothing sensitive is shown. Product placement is fairly frequent, with mentions of Petco, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; Red Bull and Coke drinks are shown. If you could go back to 2015?
A good idea for a movie but not well made, what's the story.
David Raskin ( Jonny Weston ) is a brilliant teen, an inventor like his late father. He gets into MIT, but his meager scholarship doesn't cover much, so he starts looking through his father's notes for something he can use. David stumbles upon a time machine his father nearly invented; after lots of trial and error, he and his pals finish it up and take it for a spin, using it to pass tests and win the lottery. But when David goes back alone to re-do a failed kiss with the prettiest girl in school (Sofia Black-D'Elia), he creates a ripple affect that must be repaired, and each trip only results in more catastrophe. In the end, drastic steps must be taken.
Is It Any Good?
The movie fails to go very deep, and it ignores several interesting time-travel possibilities, but it's worth seeing overall. Yet another entry in the "found footage" genre of films, PROJECT ALMANAC -- like so many others -- isn't really helped by the conceit of having its characters filming everything that happens to them. It's fine to film an experiment, but the idea that the characters would also film the construction of batteries -- or continue filming while running for their lives -- is stretching it a bit thin. (The only reason to not film this story in a more traditional manner is that the "found footage" method is supposedly cheaper and thus more profitable.)
Otherwise, this is an entertaining film with likable characters and fun situations. The characters are appealing, and the romance that brews between the two leads is sweet, while the best friends provide some fun comic support. The visual effects are pretty cool, with rattling, damaging time jumps and plenty of floating, flying objects.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about Project Almanac 's sexual content. How frequently do the teen characters think about sex ? How often is it tied to affection or love?
What would you do with the ability to time travel? Do you agree or disagree with what these characters chose?
Why does David choose to make time jumps on his own? Why doesn't he confide in his friends? Why did he break the teamwork pact? Do the consequences seem appropriate?
What's appealing or unappealing about the "found footage" style of movie?

The guide to our grades, parent movie review by kerry bennett.
Think of Project Almanac as a hybrid of Back to the Future and The Blair Witch Project . It is one of those plots where the outcome is so predictable you can only sit and wait (hopefully with a big bag of popcorn) for the protagonist to fall into the hole he has unwittingly dug for himself. But take your motion sickness pills if you are prone to a queasy stomach after watching an hour and a half of jerky handheld camera work.
Chris (Virginia Gardner) is the girl behind the camera. Her brother David (Jonny Weston) has been accepted into MIT but sans scholarship. She finds him rummaging through some of their deceased father’s old scientific papers and projects, looking for something to help him earn some much-needed funds for school. What he and his friends (Quinn Goldberr, Adam Le) eventually stumble upon are plans for a time machine.
Unfortunately, while these teenage boys have the smarts to build the time machine, they don’t have the sense to consider what the consequences may be for using it. To be fair, they are young. And even most responsible adults would likely be lured into the chance to go back in time and have a do-over in at least one situation.
Not surprisingly most of their time travel trips involve retaking tests or picking the winning numbers for a lottery. But David wants a chance to repair one mistake on his own. So he breaks the group’s cardinal rule and does a solo leap. That’s when the impact of the teens’ trips to the past begins to show up in ever increasing ripples. And every time David tries to go back and fix the results on his own, things only get worse.
Despite the fact that the characters build a time machine, this lightweight and predictable storyline, that contains plenty of references to other time travel movies like Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Time Cop and Groundhog Day , isn’t rocket science. The script also contains excessive uses of scatological slang, a couple of strong sexual expletives and plenty of other profanities. And it’s no surprise that one teen boy wants to go back in time with hopes of scoring some sexual favors from a girl.
The film does attempt to depict some consequences for breaking the rule of jumping alone. And it reinforces the idea that our choices and actions can have an impact on others in ways we can’t always control. But both of those messages aren’t readily evident and need a fair amount of coaxing out to be noticed. However, the chance to spot these cautions is short. By the time the last scene plays, it is apparent that even the teens in this movie didn’t grasp the lessons. They’ve just decided there is another way to manipulate the past.
