SSLC Grade percentage calculator can be used to convert percentage marks obtained in the exam to grade points and can also be used to convert grade points into percentages for any calculation. It is a very simple process to understand how the Kerala SSLC Grade percentage calculator works.

Difference Between Grade and Grade Point in SSLC 10th

Sslc percentage calculation from total marks, how to calculate sslc 10th percentage from grade point, calculating tgp and percentage from grade point.

  • Add the grade points of all the subjects,
  • And then divide it by 10.
8+7+9+8+5+7+6+5+5+8 = 68

The number obtained after adding all the grade points is the TGP present in your scorecard i.e TGP=68.

How to calculate the 10th percentage from TGP?

Simple just multiple the TGP obtained with 1.11 and the resulting value is the percentage you have scored in the Kerala SSLC exams:

i.e Percentage =  TGP * 1.11 or TGP* (100/90)

Example: 68 * 1.11 = 75.48 or 68* (100/90) = 75.48%

So the percentage scored with TGP 68 is 75.48%.

SSLC Percentage Calculator

To find the SSLC percentage, Type the number of A+,A,B+... you got and click "Show result" to get the result.

Why are there two percentages?

It is impossible to calculate the exact percentage from grade, since each grade represents a range of possible percentages which is what we are finding here. The first percentage given is the lowest possible while the second is the highest possible percentage. Your actual percentage is somewhere in between, including these percentages. For example, if you got 86%-96% that means either you got 86% or 96% or somewhere in between. If you want the exact percentage, read this .

Why is it showing an error?

If the total number of subjects entered is not equal to ten, it will show an error. This is deliberately put in because the site is build for examinations with 10 subjects and showing an error when not is the case will help prevent mistakes in input.

How is it Calculated?

Each grade on a subject means that you have got a certain range of percentage. A+ means your percentage is in between 90 and 100. The Table of all grades and their associated percentage is given below:

So, if a student got full A+, then their percentage is in between 90 and 100. That's straightforward.Similar is the case if one gets full A or full B; you can just look at this table and find out.

But what if some got 8 A+ and 2 A ?

Assume Each subject is in 100 marks. So the total mark is in $100 \times 10 = 1000 $

Since A+ means 90%-100%, the mark is in between 90 and 100 let's first take the highest possibility (A+ =100,A = 90,...) $$8 A+ = 8 \times 100$$ $$2 A = 2 \times 90 $$

Therefore total marks is : $$8 \times 100 + 2 \times 90 $$ $$= 980$$

Then the percentage is $$\frac{980}{1000} = 98% $$

Similarly, taking the lowest possibility (A+=90,A=80,..) $$8 A+ = 8 \times 90$$ $$2 A = 2 \times 80 $$

Therefore total marks is : $$8 \times 90 + 2 \times 80 $$ $$= 880$$

Then the percentage is $$\frac{880}{1000} = 88% $$

Therefore, the percentage is in between 88 and 98

How to get exact percentage?

if you have your marks, you can get the accurate percentage as: $$\textnormal{Percentage=}\frac{\textnormal{marks obtained}}{\textnormal{Total marks}} \times 100$$ But your marks are not usually given with your SSLC result. So, to get them you have to "Demand Draft" for it from pareekshabhavan or apply for marklist online

Frequently asked questions

How much is my percentage if I have got full A+?

Your percentage is in between 90% and 100%. To get an accurate result, you will have to do as said above.Apply for the mark list and find percentage from that.

How To Calculate Sslc Percentage

How To Calculate Sslc Percentage

Calculating SSLC percentage can be tricky, but it is an essential aspect for students hoping to secure admission for higher education courses. SSLC or Secondary School Leaving Certificate is the certificate that certifies the completion of secondary education. In India, this certification is issued by the respective State Board of Education after successfully completing the Class 10th Board Examination. The SSLC exam is regarded as one of the most crucial examinations in a student’s life. In India, SSLC Percentage is considered as an essential yardstick of a student’s academic performance. The following text will provide a detailed explanation of how to calculate SSLC percentage.

To calculate SSLC percentage, you first need to know the total marks of each subject in which you were tested. Each State Board of Education in India has its distinctive system of evaluating student’s academic performance. However, a majority of the boards usually conduct written examinations for each subject, which are valued out of a possible 100 or 200 marks.

The SSLC exam consists of various subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, Social Science, Languages, and other optional subjects that vary from board to board. The total marks or highest marks that can be acquired in each subject varies from board to board. For instance, in some boards, the total marks for Maths is 100, whereas in others, it is 200.

Once you have acquired the total marks of each subject, the next step is to calculate the aggregate percentage. The aggregate percentage is calculated by adding the marks obtained in all the subjects and then dividing the total with the maximum marks and multiplying it by 100. The formula for calculating the aggregate percentage is as follows:

Aggregate Percentage = (Total marks obtained / Maximum marks)*100

For instance, if the total marks that can be scored in Mathematics are 100, and the student has scored 85, the percentage will be calculated as follows:

Percentage = (85 / 100)*100 = 85%

The same formula applies to other subjects in the SSLC examination. Once you have calculated the percentage of each subject, you can then calculate the overall percentage by adding the percentage of each subject and then dividing the total by the number of subjects. The formula for calculating the overall percentage is as follows:

Overall Percentage = (Total Percentage of all subjects / Total number of subjects)

For example, if a student has taken six subjects and their percentage in each subject is as follows:

Science: 80%

English: 90%

Social Science: 75%

Kannada: 70%

The total percentage of all subjects will be calculated as follows:

Total Percentage of all subjects = (85+80+90+75+70+80)/6

Thus, the overall percentage of the student is 80%.

Another important aspect to note here is that different State Boards of Education in India have varying criteria for passing the SSLC examination. For instance, while some boards ask for a minimum of 35% in each subject, others may require an overall percentage of 35%. Therefore, students are advised to check the criteria set by their respective State Board of Education before attempting to calculate their SSLC percentage.

In conclusion, calculating SSLC percentage requires a bit of effort, but it is a crucial aspect for students looking to pursue higher education. Students should ensure that they have garnered all the necessary information, such as the total marks of each subject and the criteria for passing before attempting to calculate their SSLC percentage. By following the steps mentioned above, students can easily calculate their SSLC percentage and subsequently utilize it for their admission into higher education courses.

Kerala SSLC Grading System 2024  is a 9-point grading system with the highest grade value being 9 and the lowest being 1. These grades are conferred to the students by the Kerala Board of Public Examination (KBPE) based on their marks in the Kerala SSLC exam. The grading assesses the students on a 9-point scale ranging from A+ followed by A, B+, and B up to E. The grades secured by students in the examination reflect their performance. Students who fail to obtain at least a D+ grade, which is the minimum passing grade, have to appear for the SAY or Supplementary exam. Under the Kerala SSLC Supplementary Exam 2024 , students can take the improvement exam only for one subject so that their overall grade gets better.

The maximum marks of the Kerala SSLC 2024 exam are 640, out of which 490 marks are allotted to the written Board exams while 130 marks are assigned for the internal assessment, and the rest 20 marks are occupied by an IT Practical exam. The total marks scored by a student out of these 640 marks secures them a grade correspondingly. Check the information about the Kerala SSLC Grading System 2024 here:

Kerala SSLC Grading System 2024 has been shown below in the tabular form. The grades correspond to particular grade points and range of marks. As per the grades secured by the students, certain remarks are also stated on their Grade Sheet for Kerala SSLC. A tabulated description of the Kerala SLCC 2024 grading system is displayed below:

Kerala SSLC 2024 Result does not contain any details about the marks obtained by the candidates. The Kerala SSLC Grade Card 2024 just depicts the grades. However some students require a statement of marks for admission purposes, such students can send an application to the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan with a ₹100 draft. Any student who wants to obtain the statement of marks after two years of his/her result declaration needs to follow the same process and submit ₹200 as an application fee.

Generally, colleges demand the marks scored by the candidates to admit the students. In such cases, students can request the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan for the marks.

Kerala SSLC Grading System 2024: Conversion of Grade Points to Percentage

After KBPE declares the Kerala SSLC 2024 Result, students can convert the grade points awarded to them to percentages. After calculating the percentage correctly, the performance of the candidate is identified by different Educational institutes, which follow the Percentage pattern.

To calculate the percentage from the grade points secured in the Kerala SSLC Result, Students can follow the steps given below:

  • Add the grade points secured in each subject. This sum is known as the TGP (Total Grade Point).
  • And then multiply the sum by 1.11
  • So, Percentage =  TGP * 1.11 or TGP* (100/90)

For a better understanding of Grading Calculation Please refer to the table given below:

For eg. Suppose a student scores the following grades in the Kerala SSLC Board exams

Now, the Grade points scored by the student need to be added up:

9+6+8+9+4+6+7+6+3+8 = 66

This 64 is known as the TGP i.e Total Grade Point

So, Finally to calculate the percentage using this TGP, Multiply it by 1.11 i.e.

Percentage =  64 * 1.11 = 71.04%

So, the percentage scored by the candidate is 71.04% which is equivalent to 64 TGP.

Students must get a minimum number of marks in each subject to successfully pass the Kerala SSLC board exams 2024. You can check out the table given below to learn more about the passing marks for order to every subject included in the curriculum:

How to calculate sslc or cbse class 10th marks into percentage.

Formula for calculate percentage for marks will be,

Percentage of Marks = (Total Scored Marks ⁄ Total Marks) × 100

To calculate the total marks and percentage of 5 subjects, you need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Add up the total marks obtained in all the five subjects.

For example, let’s say you got 70 in Tamil, 85 in English, 90 in Math, 80 in Science, and 75 in Social Science.

So the total marks obtained would be 70+85+90+80+75=400 .

Step 2: Calculate the total maximum marks for all the five subjects.

The maximum marks for each subject could be different, but let’s assume the maximum marks for each subject is 100, so the total maximum marks for all the five subjects would be 100×5=500.

Step 3: Divide the total marks obtained by the total maximum marks and multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

Using the marks obtained and maximum marks in the example above, the percentage would be (400/500) x 100 = 80%.

Therefore, the total marks obtained in 5 subjects are 400, and the percentage of marks obtained is 80%.

Related GPA Calculator

The calculators above use the following letter grades and their typical corresponding numerical equivalents based on grade points.

Brief history of different grading systems

In 1785, students at Yale were ranked based on "optimi" being the highest rank, followed by second optimi, inferiore (lower), and pejores (worse). At William and Mary, students were ranked as either No. 1, or No. 2, where No. 1 represented students that were first in their class, while No. 2 represented those who were "orderly, correct and attentive." Meanwhile at Harvard, students were graded based on a numerical system from 1-200 (except for math and philosophy where 1-100 was used). Later, shortly after 1883, Harvard used a system of "Classes" where students were either Class I, II, III, IV, or V, with V representing a failing grade. All of these examples show the subjective, arbitrary, and inconsistent nature with which different institutions graded their students, demonstrating the need for a more standardized, albeit equally arbitrary grading system.

In 1887, Mount Holyoke College became the first college to use letter grades similar to those commonly used today. The college used a grading scale with the letters A, B, C, D, and E, where E represented a failing grade. This grading system however, was far stricter than those commonly used today, with a failing grade being defined as anything below 75%. The college later re-defined their grading system, adding the letter F for a failing grade (still below 75%). This system of using a letter grading scale became increasingly popular within colleges and high schools, eventually leading to the letter grading systems typically used today. However, there is still significant variation regarding what may constitute an A, or whether a system uses plusses or minuses (i.e. A+ or B-), among other differences.

An alternative to the letter grading system

Letter grades provide an easy means to generalize a student's performance. They can be more effective than qualitative evaluations in situations where "right" or "wrong" answers can be easily quantified, such as an algebra exam, but alone may not provide a student with enough feedback in regards to an assessment like a written paper (which is much more subjective).

Although a written analysis of each individual student's work may be a more effective form of feedback, there exists the argument that students and parents are unlikely to read the feedback, and that teachers do not have the time to write such an analysis. There is precedence for this type of evaluation system however, in Saint Ann's School in New York City, an arts-oriented private school that does not have a letter grading system. Instead, teachers write anecdotal reports for each student. This method of evaluation focuses on promoting learning and improvement, rather than the pursuit of a certain letter grade in a course. For better or for worse however, these types of programs constitute a minority in the United States, and though the experience may be better for the student, most institutions still use a fairly standard letter grading system that students will have to adjust to. The time investment that this type of evaluation method requires of teachers/professors is likely not viable on university campuses with hundreds of students per course. As such, although there are other high schools such as Sanborn High School that approach grading in a more qualitative way, it remains to be seen whether such grading methods can be scalable. Until then, more generalized forms of grading like the letter grading system are unlikely to be entirely replaced. However, many educators already try to create an environment that limits the role that grades play in motivating students.
