Multiplication Facts Worksheets

Welcome to the multiplication facts worksheets page at Math-Drills.com! On this page, you will find Multiplication worksheets for practicing multiplication facts at various levels and in a variety of formats. This is our most popular page due to the wide variety of worksheets for multiplication available. Or it could be that learning multiplication facts and multiplication strategies are essential to many topics in mathematics beyond third grade math.

Learning multiplication facts to the point of quick recall should be a goal for all students and will serve them well in their math studies. Multiplication facts are actually easier to learn than you might think. First of all, it is only essential to learn the facts from 1 to 9. Somewhere along the way students can learn that anything multiplied by zero is zero. Hopefully, that is an easy one. Students also need to learn to multiply by ten as a precursor to learning how to multiply other powers of ten. After those three skills are learned, everything else is long multiplication. Multiplying by 11 is actually two-digit multiplication. Now, learning fact tables of 11 and beyond will do no harm to those students who are keen and able to learn these things quickly, and it might help them figure out how many eggs are in a gross faster than anyone else, but keep it simple for those students who struggle a bit more.

Multiplication Facts Tables

practice time table sheets

The multiplication tables with individual questions include a separate box for each number. In each box, the single number is multiplied by every other number with each question on one line. The tables may be used for various purposes such as introducing the multiplication tables, skip counting, as a lookup table, patterning activities, and memorizing.

The compact multiplication tables are basically lookup charts. To look up a multiplication fact, find the first factor in the column header and the second factor in the row headers; then use straight edges, your fingers or your eyes to find where the column and row intersect to get the product. These tables are better than the previous tables for finding patterns, but they can be used in similar ways. Each PDF includes a filled out table page and a blank table page. The blank tables can be used for practice or assessment. You might also make a game out of it, such as "Pin the Fact on the Table" (a play on Pin the Tail on the Donkey). Students are given a product (answer) and they pin it on an enlarged version or the table (photocopier enlargement, interactive whiteboard, overhead projector, etc.). Paper-saving versions with multiple tables per page are included. The left-handed versions of the multiplication tables recognize that students who use their left hands might block the row headings on the right-handed versions.

Five Minute Multiplication Frenzies

practice time table sheets

Five minute frenzy charts are 10 by 10 grids that are used for multiplication fact practice (up to 12 x 12) and improving recall speed. They are very much like compact multiplication tables, but all the numbers are mixed up, so students are unable to use skip counting to fill them out. In each square, students write the product of the column number and the row number. They try to complete the chart in a set time with an accuracy goal (such as less than five minutes and score 98 percent or better).

It is important to note here that you should NOT have students complete five minute frenzies if they don't already know all of the multiplication facts that appear on them. If you want them to participate with the rest of the class, cross off the rows and columns that they don't know and have them complete a modified version. Remember, these charts are for practice and improving recall, not a teaching tool by itself.

Students who write with their left hands may cover the row headings on the right-handed versions, so the left-handed versions have the row headings on the other side.

When a student first learns multiplication facts, try not to overwhelm them with the entire multiplication table. The following worksheets include one row of the facts in order with the target digit on the bottom and one row with the target digit on the top. The remaining rows include each of the facts once, but the target digit is randomly placed on the top or the bottom and the facts are randomly mixed on each row.

Some students find it easier to focus on one multiplication fact at a time. These multiplication worksheets include some repetition, of course, as there is only one thing to multiply by. Once students practice a few times, these facts will probably get stuck in their heads for life. Some of the later versions include a range of focus numbers. In those cases, each question will randomly have one of the focus numbers in question. For example, if the range is 6 to 8, the question might include a 6, 7 or 8 or more than one depending on which other factor was chosen for the second factor.

Multiplication is one of the essential elements of mathematics, though it can be a challenge for some young learners because it requires memorization as well as practice. These worksheets help students practice their multiplication skills and commit the basics to memory.

Multiplication Tips

Like any new skill, multiplication takes time and practice. It also requires memorization. Most teachers say that 10 to 15 minutes of practice time four or five times a week is necessary for children to commit the facts to memory.

Here are some easy ways to help students remember their times tables:

  • Multiplying by 2 : Double the number that you're multiplying. For example, 2 x 4 = 8. That's the same as 4 + 4.
  • Multiplying by 4 : Double the number you're multiplying, then double it again. For example, 4 x 4 = 16. That's the same as 4 + 4 + 4 + 4.
  • Multiplying by 5 : Count the number of 5s you're multiplying and add them up. Use your fingers to help count if you need to. For instance: 5 x 3 = 15. That's the same as 5 + 5 + 5.
  • Multiplying by 10 : This is super easy. Take the number you're multiplying and add a 0 to the end of it. For instance, 10 x 7 = 70.

For more practice, try using fun and easy  multiplication games  to reinforce the times tables.

Worksheet Instructions

These times tables (in PDF format) are designed to help students learn how to multiply numbers from 2 to 10. You'll also find advanced practice sheets to help reinforce the basics. Completing each of these sheets should only take about a minute. See how far your child can get in that amount of time, and don't worry if the student doesn't complete the exercise the first few times. Speed will come with proficiency.

Work on the 2's, 5's, and 10's first, then the doubles (6 x 6, 7 x 7, 8 x 8). Next, move to each of the fact families: 3's, 4,s, 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's, 11's, and 12's. Do not let the student move to a different fact family without first mastering the previous one. Have the student do one of these each night and see how long it takes her to complete a page or how far she gets in a minute.

Multiplication and Division Practice

Once the student has mastered the basics of multiplication using single digits, she can advance to more challenging lessons, with two-digit multiplication as well as two- and three-digit division . You can also advance student learning by creating engaging lesson plans for two-digit multiplication, including homework suggestions and advice on helping students evaluate their work as well as their progress.

Helpful Tips to Teach the Multiplication Table to Kids

But before you keep your kids engaged with a multiplication table worksheet, we recommend you to try the following tips. Once you complete these steps, our multiplication table worksheets will be super easy!

  • See, read and recite: Make a times table sheet and hang it in your child’s room. For this, you and your child will need to work together to write the times table. Only once it’s completed can you hang it in their room. So every time they wake up in the morning, they could look at this times table sheet and revise what they already know.
  • Start simple: Start with the simple multiplication tables first. Obviously, if you start them with more complex times tables like that of 8 or 12, they might start to doubt their capabilities. We recommend starting with 2 times table , and then 10, and then move on to more difficult ones. Once they feel more confident in themselves, you could introduce them to some multiplication table worksheets.
  • Multiplication song: Turn it into a song! Kids are likely to retain information when they’re having fun. What better way to make learning multiplication tables easier and fun than with music? All you have to do is take tunes of popular songs and replace the lyrics with the times table! Have your child learn the lyrics and sing-along to learn the multiplication tables while boogieing.
  • Play hands-on multiplication games: Multiplication games for kids are a great way to help children learn the times tables easily. For example, you could have kids play with a deck of cards. All they’d need to do is draw two cards each and find the product of both numbers on the cards. Whoever does this the quickest wins that round. For digital-physical multiplication games, check out Osmo’s all-new Math Wizard games!

  • Quiz your kids regularly: The next time you find yourself waiting for food to be delivered, or walking to the school with your child, you could quiz your kids on the multiplication table. Since there’s nothing else that’s really going on at that time, their heads are usually clear and it’s a good time to test them. If these are too stressful, try not to spring them on your kids out of the blue. Maybe you could allocate a certain day in the week to test your kids instead.
  • Practice worksheets: Once your child is fairly confident with the multiplication tables, help them practice problems using the multiplication table worksheet. Solving the problems will help them remember the times tables easily and instantly recall them when necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions on Multiplication Table Worksheet

At what grade should a child be introduced to the multiplication table worksheet.

Children usually start recognizing the numbers when they reach the age of 2 or 3. But, to introduce them to the multiplication table worksheet, you have to monitor their learning capacity and understanding level. Once they have learned the basics of subtracting and adding, you can slowly introduce them to multiplication table worksheet.

How does the multiplication table worksheet teach kids?

A multiplication table worksheet is a table that depicts the multiples of two factors. One set of numbers is entered on the left and another set is on the right. The multiples are written as a product on the right hand corner. When kids get acquainted with this pattern of multiplication, they find it easier to learn and solve the equation without any difficulty.

How Long Does It Take To Learn From The Multiplication Table Worksheet?

Usually, parents and teachers use the same teaching method for two to three weeks or 15 to 20 minutes a day. Also, this might work for a few children and may not for some. A few need more attention in terms of revision and practice to understand the concept.

Your Complete Guide to the 2024 Super Bowl: Teams, Tickets, Taylor Swift, and More

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (left) celebrates after a touchdown against the Detroit Lions in the NFC championship game in San Francisco on Jan. 28, 2024. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks to pass during the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore on Jan. 28, 2024.

A merica is heading for a 2020 rematch in 2024, and no, we’re not talking (just yet) about Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump.

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will once again compete in the NFL’s championship match as the two football teams head to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, after each winning their respective conference title games on Sunday.

The Chiefs, who are the reigning Super Bowl champions and won the matchup against the 49ers four years ago, are led by generational quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, who has lit up both the fields and the tabloids this year thanks to his emphatic performances as well as attention-grabbing relationship with singer and TIME Person of the Year Taylor Swift .

APTOPIX Chiefs Ravens Football

The 49ers, meanwhile, are led by polarizing quarterback Brock Purdy, who has responded to wide criticism of alleged mediocrity with consistently impressive stats and clutch comebacks, as well as running back Christian McCaffrey, whose stellar season so far has broken franchise and NFL records .

Both teams and their star players will be looking to make history in football’s final showdown of the 2023-2024 season—and so will the NFL. Last year’s Super Bowl was the most watched U.S. telecast ever . With viewership up this year , this game may just shatter that record, too.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When and where is the 2024 Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LVIII will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET, Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This is the first time either the city, nicknamed the entertainment capital of the world, or the stadium, which opened in 2020 and is normally home to the Las Vegas Raiders, will host the Super Bowl.

How can I watch the 2024 Super Bowl?

The game will be broadcast nationally by CBS, and it can be streamed via Paramount Plus as well as via the NFL Network’s app or website.

Nickelodeon will also be airing an exclusive production tailored for children, with presenters including SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.

More From TIME

Are tickets still available to go to the super bowl.

Official tickets and hospitality packages to watch the match in-person are available via On Location , as well as on resale sites such as TicketMaster , Vivid Seats , Seat Geek , TickPick , and Stubhub —with prices driven by high demand currently ranging from around $7,000 at the lowest end to as much as $90,000.

What Super Bowl ads can we expect?

The Super Bowl is as—if not more— renowned for its commercials as it is for the action between the breaks. This year, AdWeek reports that the program’s pricey spots are “virtually sold out,” and several companies have already begun releasing previews of their celebrity-studded advertisements to come—from mayonnaise maker Hellmann’s teasing an ad featuring comedian and cat lady Kate McKinnon, to beer brand Michelob Ultra putting soccer star and TIME Athlete of the Year Lionel Messi front and center , to gambling facilitator BetMGM sharing its full 60-second plug that pokes fun at seven-time Super Bowl champ Tom Brady as actor Vince Vaughn declares the recently retired quarterback has “won too much” and should “let others have their turn.”

What are the Super Bowl betting odds?

The 49ers are the favorites to win, according to bookmakers, with an opening spread of around 2 points, though that is likely to fluctuate in the run-up to the actual gameday.

Who is performing the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show?

R&B superstar Usher was announced last September as the headline performer of the Super Bowl halftime show, sponsored by Apple Music.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” the 45-year-old eight-time Grammy winner—who is set to release his ninth album, “Coming Home,” on Feb. 9—said. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.”

In the past, celebrity guests have sometimes joined the main act, though none have been officially announced yet. A trailer released in January featured appearances by LeBron James, J Balvin, and BTS’ Jung Kook.

There will also be several performances before the game: country musician Reba McEntire is slated to lead national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner,” while hip-hop artist Post Malone will offer his rendition of “America the Beautiful,” and actress and soul singer Andra Day will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing”—also known as “ the Black national anthem ” and which has been included in Super Bowl pregame festivities since 2021.

Will Taylor Swift be at the Super Bowl?

Swift, who has become a fixture at her boyfriend Kelce’s games and was there to celebrate the Chiefs victory against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday to advance to the Super Bowl, has yet to confirm whether or not she’ll be in attendance in Las Vegas on Feb. 11. The global pop star has a scheduled Eras Tour concert in Tokyo on Feb. 10, though social media users have already calculated that she could feasibly still make it back across the world in time.

  • Tips and Tricks for Getting Started

Taking on the role of an elite Helldiver fighting for democracy is tough work, but there's a whole host of weapons, Stratagems , and armor types that will help you keep the peace. So whether you're jumping into your Hellpod for the first time or you've already taken down an onslaught of Terminids and Automatons, here are our tips and tricks to get you started in Helldivers 2 .

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (5).png

21 Essential Tips and Tricks for Getting Started

  • Make use of your Stratagems often. The tutorial does an excellent job of covering how important Stratagems will be for you throughout the game. But when you're out on your very first mission, you'll see just how essential they really are. Whether it's restocking ammo, calling down specific weapons, or wiping out an army of bugs, use your Stratagems! Some have limited uses, but quite a few are unlimited -- so don't be shy about pulling them out. These will form part of your loadout before each mission, so you can swap them in and out to test the ones you like best.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks .png

  • On the topic of Stratagems, ship module upgrades are equally important. These will affect your Stratagems, and you can see the ones that will be influenced in the bottom right corner on each ship module upgrade. These can do everything from increasing your magazine size to reducing cooldowns. You'll need to pick up Samples when you're in the field to be able to purchase these upgrades and the better ones will need rarer samples, which you'll unlock at higher difficulty levels.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (2).png

  • Avoid moving around when you're aiming. The tutorial will cover this, explaining how your reticle will move all over the place when you're firing your weapon, and if you want to take down enemies, precision is key. There's also friendly fire in the game, so the last thing you want to do is take down your fellow Helldivers. If you want to lock onto a target and be even steadier with your aim, try crouching .

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (1).png

  • There are multiple currencies to get familiar with. Whether you're unlocking new Stratagems or upgrading ship modules, you'll find that not everything uses the same currency. Here are the ones you'll need to know and what exactly they can do:

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (4).png

  • Use your map to find Points of Interest. When you set off on a mission, you'll get quite a bit of time to complete it, so if you want to make the most of a planet, don't beeline for the main mission . Instead, take the time to explore it thoroughly. Open the map and scan around to identify points of interest. Investigating these is how you end up finding loot like medals and Requisition Slips, interesting information logs, and more. If you can't see any points of interest immediately, look for flashing beacons in the distance or question marks on your compass at the top of the screen.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (6).png

  • Watch your ammo! This isn't just a suggestion to watch when your ammo is depleted, but also watch when you reload. If you reload before emptying your clip, you throw away crucial ammo. If you're running low on ammunition altogether, don't forget to deploy a supply Stratagem or scour the land for points of interest -- you'll usually find plenty of ammo scattered around.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (7).png

  • Use the environment. You've got big guns, you've got Stratagems, you've got reinforcements from teammates, but you've also got the environment to utilize. As you roam the map, you might find items you can pick up and throw, such as explosive tanks. Grab them and throw them to a prime position to take out as many enemies as possible. There are even artillery weapons that you get back online as part of side objectives during operations. These can be filled with missiles that can then be called in as a Stratagem wherever you are.
  • Go prone! Every time you're hit, you'll be told to go prone and double-tap circle to dive down. This is covered in basic training, but if you're being told to do it, do it! This will sometimes be the best way to get those soft spots on bugs or ensure you can escape from a horde.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (8).png

  • You'll have personal orders and major orders. The major orders will last for multiple days and reward you with Requisition Slips. Personal orders update daily, and you'll be rewarded with medals for completing them. These can be anything from completing secondary objections while you're on an operation to taking down a certain number of enemies. Press L2 to see your orders at any time.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (9).png

  • Sharing is caring. Helldivers 2 encourages multiplayer, and it's honestly much faster to take down objectives with a larger squad. You can have up to 3 teammates with you on each mission, and multiplayer can be with friends or through random matchmaking. When you're working as a team, you'll have to and will want to share certain things. For example, resupply drops apply to the whole team, so if someone uses it, your Supply Stratagem will also enter cooldown . The other thing you'll share is redeployment. If you've got a full squad, you'll have 20 chances to come back , but these are split between the four of you. You can see these in the top-left corner of your screen at all times.

Helldivers 2: What Are Your Favorite Stratagems?

Pick a winner.

  • Practice your Stratagem input skills. Using Stratagems, especially in the heat of an intense battle, can be particularly daunting. Thankfully, there's a way to brush up on your input code skills through a unique arcade-like game machine called Stratagem Hero found along the wall, directly across from the Ship Management station. When interacting with the arcade machine, you'll be prompted with a timed, round-based minigame that requires you to input real Stratagem codes. Not only can you participate in a high-score list, but Stratagem Hero is a fantastic way to get used to inputting Stratagem codes quickly under pressure.

Strategem Hero is available to Helldivers who purchased the Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (10).png

  • There's no need to check your cooldowns. Apart from shared Stratagems like Resupply, your personal Stratagems will always have the same cooldown time. But you won't need to hit L1 and try to check these during fights, as a handy little pop-up appears on the screen to tell you when you've just got a few more seconds to wait.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (11).png

  • Look for secondary objectives, outposts, and bases. These aren't always obvious, but each map will have a set of additional activities you can complete. They can range from destroying bases to reloading weapons and disrupting signals.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (12).png

  • Blow the doors off! Things can be destroyed in Helldivers 2, and some of the optional objectives will encourage you to blow places to bits. Sometimes when you find points of interest, you'll see crates or doors nearby. Throw a grenade and open them up to find even more loot.
  • You can still extract once the timer has run out. But if you do, you lose the ability to use your Stratagems. This might make the wait for the extraction ship a little more challenging as you fight off enemies, but it's also worth going to unlock the "In the nick of time" achievement. If you don't manage to make it out alive, you can also earn the Job's done! trophy , where you complete the main objective but fail to extract.

Helldivers2 Tips And Tricks (13).png

  • Adjust the settings of your gun out on the field. If you press and hold square while you're using a gun, you can change a variety of features during a mission. You can toggle your flashlight on and off, or change whether the gun fires automatically or in bursts.
  • Loot fallen teammates. When you die, you'll drop certain things like Weapons and samples. As soon as someone dies, pick up any samples they drop , so they don't go missing. Samples are split between your team anyway, so you will be doing everyone a favor by getting them again. If you're paying solo, look for the test tube icon to show you where your dropped samples are.
  • It pays to play with friends! Occasionally, you can find doors that require 2 people to open up. But that's not all, you get a big XP boost when you're in a team and you all extract together.
  • That being said, there's nothing wrong with flying solo! You can knock out a few easy missions for a fast 180 XP every 15 minutes or so.
  • Get to Level 5 ASAP! From here, you'll be able to unlock some of the Best Stratagems in the game. Once you’ve hit level 5 you’ll also have a good feel for the game and be able to start exploring a lot more with your newfound arsenal.
  • Some missions require a blitz approach. While you don’t need to rush most of the 40-minute missions, some are much shorter and require a fast 15-minute clear. Try to, at the very least, collect the beams of light and samples that you find in the field that are near your critical path. Even if you’re playing on easy you’ll want to nab all samples and yellow beams you find. Those yellow beams give you credits for better unlocks, including the kind you can pay for in the shop, and don’t worry if your buddy gets to them first. The contents will be distributed to your team.
